As the weather gets colder and we're turning up the central heating, it's vital to take care of your skin with a really good moisturiser. My favourite product this month has to be Perfecting Day Cream from the Restore & Replenish Range from Skin Wisdom. You can find it at all good branches of Tesco.

If you're prone to blemishes and redness on your skin, prepare your face with a little concealer, carefully blended in with your fingertips. Finish with foundation which matches your skin tone or a light dusting of All in One Face Base which you can find at The Body Shop.

Apply a warm blusher to match your skin tone with a good brush. If in doubt about which colour to use, always ask for help at the beauty counter when choosing a shade. Make sure you are working in a good light and you don't overdo the colour. Now it's time to look at your eyes.

I find lilacs and pretty pastels are always flattering. There are some great new eye shadow sets from Marks & Spencer. Using a small sponge applicator, apply a little of your favourite shadow just above your lower lashes or you can use a kohl pencil if your prefer. This creates light and interest.

Then gently shade a lighter colour underneath the brow bone to enhance your eyebrows. And work a darker shade into the corners of your eyes. Experiment with different colours to suit your skin tone, then blend in with your fingertips for a natural look. Finish with a good mascara.

Complete the look with a well chosen lipstick. Look for delicate pink, shimmery shades. Or if you have darker skin, try warm rich plums and mulberry tones. For a sensual look, dab a little lip gloss on your lower lip.
